Two reports of egging in West Seattle last night – anybody else?
I’m not sure if anyone else was an egging victim last night, but just wanted to put it out there in case it happened to anyone else. Last night I was in my vehicle and eggs were thrown at me from a passing vehicle in front of 5900 California Ave SW. They were driving a dark blue VW. I think it was a Jetta. I didn’t see the people in the car, but as they threw the eggs they yelled something, and it sounded like a male. I managed to get the egg off before it caused any damage, but it was a little saddening to me because I just moved to West Seattle from Philadelphia. I thought it was supposed to be a nicer and safer place here in Seattle.
Seattle is generally pretty civilized and definitely a nice place to live, sez this Boston transplant.
But-much as I wouldn’t appreciate an egg tossed at me I pulled my fair share of stupid stunts in a previous life. As when I was in high school.
Hopefully this was a dumb kid stunt and not a malicious thing. Sorry you got egged. But at least it wasn’t 90 and muggy too, like in Philly.

I also was egged last night not once but twice. The occupants of a dark blue VW (maybe Jetta)were driving eastbound on Thistle when they attempted to actually hit me with the egg. Fortunately with their car travelling at a high rate of speed they couldn’t hit their target (me) but hit my house instead. As I was on the phone with the non-emergency police to report the incident, they returned traveling westbound on Thistle to once again try to hit me. Unfortunately I was on hold with the police and couldn’t get a plate number. They did have police officers take a report and advised me to call 9-1-1 if it happened again.
This sounds like the type of behavior from kids just off of school, like stated in earlier posts. I did my fair share of dumb things when I was a kid, and so I dont agree that all of these kids are jerks. They may not be thinking of the consequences but that doesn’t make them jerks or mean in general. I do believe a visit from an officer would put an end to it though and I hope it happens.
